Formula 1 2023 - Grid and calendar

It's finally here! Next Sunday, we already have Formula 1! The championship, supervised by the FIA ​​(International Automobile Federation), completes 73 years of existence. In this article, we will show you the season grid and the GP calendar to help you prepare for Formula 1 2023! Follow along!

In 2022 we saw changes in Formula 1. The teams that almost monopolized the championship for many years fell, while others rose up. Furthermore, in the previous season, Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was two-time world champion and his team also won the constructors' world title, followed by the traditional Ferrari and Mercedes.

In second place in the drivers' world championship was Charles Leclerc (Ferrari), with Sergio Pérez (also from Red Bull) in third.

Formula 1 2023

However, this is expected to change: drivers hired by other teams, arrival of new drivers, change of team managers, improvements to the cars… In the future, we will write more articles commenting on this.

As previously mentioned, Sunday, March 5th, in Bahrain, the 1st Grand Prix of the 2023 Formula 1 season will take place, which will feature 23 races. The race will be at 12 pm (Basília time), with the broadcast on Rede Bandeirantes starting at 11:30 am. See below the grid for this year and the Formula 1 racing calendar for 2023:

Red Bull Racing

With the current constructors' world champions, the current two-time world champion Max Verstappen continues, who has a contract with the team until 2028, while the Mexican driver Sergio Perezremains for team until at least December 2024.

Formula 1 2023 – Ferrari

For the traditional Italian team, the current runner-up Charles Leclerc and the 5th placed 2022 Carlos Sainz compete. The two drivers' contracts with the runner-up of the constructors' world champion expire in December 2024.

Mercedes

For the German team, driver George Russell, who is spending his second season with the team, and the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton remain. Both athletes have committed to driving for Mercedes until December 2023.

Formula 1 2023 -Alpine

For Alpine, the Frenchman Esteban Ocon will be on the tracks, with the team since 2020. His contract was renewed in 2021 and ends in December 2024. In addition to him, the team also has the Frenchman , ex-AlphaTauri Pierre Gasly, whose contract is multi-year.



McLaren

In addition to Lando Norris, who has been with the team since 2019 and has a contract until 2025, the British team also has Formula 1 newcomer Oscar Piastri. The rookie replaced Australian Daniel Ricciardo, who left McLaren and returned to his former team: Red Bull, but as a reserve driver.

Formula 1 2023 – Alfa Romeo

For Alfa Romeo, which finished sixth in the team's final standings in 2022, the drivers remain unchanged: Chinese Guanyu Zhou has a contract with the team until the end of 2023, while the contract by Finnish Valtteri Bottasends in December 2025.

Aston Martin

In the British team, Canadian Lance Stroll renewed his contract for an indefinite period. Aston Martin also has something new: Spanish driver Fernando Alonso, a former Alpine participant, has joined the team to replace German Sebastian Vettel, who retired in 2022.

Formula 1 2023 – Haas

For Haas, the Danish Kevin Magnussen continues, who will play for the North American team from 2022, and his contract runs until December 2023. Facing the departure of Mick Schumacher, who became Mercedes' new replacement driver, German Nico Hulkenberg is expected to return as a Formula 1 starter after four years. There is currently no information about his contract with the team.

AlphaTauri

We also had changes to the “cast” of the Italian team. The Japanese Yuki Tsunoda, who has been with the team since 2021, will stay until the end of the season. In 2023, a new driver joins the team, replacing Pierre Gasly at AlphaTauri: we are talking about the Formula E champion with Mercedes, Nyck de Vries.


Williams

Finally, for Williams, Thai driver Alex Albon remains, with a contract until at least December 2024. However, with the departure of Nicolas Latifi, the team's reserve driver until the previous season, Logan Sargent, will occupy your place. Information about the new driver's contract has not yet been released.
