See the summary of the last episode of The Last of Us

The last episode of the first season of the series The last of us, brought us a surprising and emotional ending.

The series brought us a great visual and scientific impact, but in this finale, seeing Ellie's birth for our team was the most incredible part of the last episode, after all Ashley Johnson (Ellie in the game) appears as Anna, mother of our protagonist Ellie.

Remarkable scene from the last episode

The scene brings us young Anna running through the forest being chased, to an abandoned cabin, an infected woman invades the cabin to attack her, the two fight, until Anna manages to kill her attacker and soon after delivers her daughter , this brings us a feeling of anguish and distress.

During the last episode we understood that Anna and Marlene were very close friends and Anna asked Marlene to save her daughter, taking Ellie to the leader of the Fireflies. And not only that but also that he killed her before she became a monster, because she couldn't stop herself from being bitten.

Ellie's immunity

This explains why Ellie is immune to the virus, when Anna realizes that she was bitten on her thigh she cuts her umbilical cord, takes her baby and says “show them Ellie” and with this she may have generated the immunity necessary for the survival of your daughter.

Anna left a souvenir knife for her daughter, the same one we see Ellie using since the beginning of the plot. The scenes show Marlene handing the baby over to the leader of the Fireflies who reluctantly agrees to take her in.

Giraffes amid an apocalyptic scenario

Joel and Ellie walk to the hospital that was being built before the apocalypse. And it is in this place that we have a big surprise, Ellie bends down between the stairs and finds a giraffe, an animal that the girl had never seen before. In a moment of peace, they feed it and see that there are still many other specimens of the species, meaning a ray of hope.

Ellie reaffirms her partnership with Joel

Joel leaves the way clear for Ellie if she wants to give up and live in the commune with Diego, but the girl doesn't accept it and says she will follow him wherever he goes. She comforts him by stating that “time heals all wounds”, he states “it wasn’t time that healed me”, as if to say: you healed me.

Marlene and the Fireflies

Continuing on their way, they are surprised by a bomb that leaves them stunned. When Joel wakes up he is in a room with Marlene, who considers herself in his debt. When asking about Ellie, Marlene says that doctors believe that Cordyceps grew with Ellie since her birth, and that by separating the cells of her organism, it will be possible to produce and multiply chemical messengers that will bring a cure to everyone.

Upon understanding the doctors' decision, as the virus establishes itself in the brain, and for that in surgery Ellie would die, Joel cannot accept losing yet another person he loves, he tries to negotiate with the leader of the Fireflies so that he can find another test subject.< /p>

Marlene throws him out of the hospital, and he is escorted out, but he manages to escape and, acting like a father, enraged, he takes everyone out of the way who believes that the best thing is to sacrifice the girl.

So our protagonist invades the surgical center and kills the doctor who would perform the surgery on Elie who is on the anesthetized table, he carries her in his arms just like he did with Sarah in the first episode, running away, but is found by Marlene.

You can’t keep her safe”. “She will grow up, Joel, you will die or she will leave you. How long until she is torn apart by an infected? Or be killed by looters? Because she lives in a broken world that you could have saved.

End and closure of the last chapter – The last of us

Continuing our summary of the last episode of TLOU, we change scenes with Joel and Ellie in the car, when the girl wakes up and asks if Marlene is okay, and he replies no, the scene returns to the parking lot where he shoots Marlene so she doesn't go after them again. Let her know that there are others who are immune and that the Fireflies are no longer looking for a cure.

Getting back on the road they now walk on foot to get to Wyoming, and talking Joel says that Sarah would like Ellie, who smiles and reveals how she had to kill Riley after they were both bitten.

And the scene that ends the last episode with Ellie asking Joel to swear that everything he said about fireflies is true, he lies again and says yes, and that's it!

With this great ending, the last episode of the series leaves expectations for the next season, which is confirmed but no dates have yet been announced.
